I have been waiting for TWO large art pieces to come back into stock at Target for months and finally decided to take matters into my own hands! Here‘s a quick look at how you can create your own custom art piece.
What you’ll need:
• Sanded plywood - we got 1/2”
• 1”x2”s
• Spray adhesive - https://amzn.to/3e63Jqo
• Poster print (I ordered from Walgreens during a 1/2 off sale!)
• Wood Glue - https://amzn.to/3bRqDQw
• Stain - https://amzn.to/3bN1NkL
• Nail gun - https://amzn.to/2LLCKnM
• Miter Saw - https://amzn.to/2LNokmZ
First I hunted Etsy for a downloadable print that I liked. I was able to download the file to my iPhone, upload to Walgreens and order very easily. These can even be ready the same day.
Here is the link to the print I picked: https://www.etsy.com/listing/783122617/neutral-peach-gray-print-minimal?ref=yr_purchases
My poster was 24”x36” so we just had to slightly trim down the plywood we bought. Definitely go with a very smooth, higher quality plywood so that you don’t have any bumps when you lay your poster.
Assembly was honestly so easy! We angled the corners of the frame but you could also leave them square if you like that better.
Be VERY generous with your adhesive. I have a couple little bubbles where I think I didn’t get enough on but luckily they aren‘t noticeable.
I used Minwax Golden Oak to stain the frame which is one of my favorite stains. Grab it here: https://amzn.to/3bN1NkL
This was such a fun and easy project! There are endless possibilities for any room in your home.
